We have arrived...
We have arrived at our hostel in Miraflores, a district along the Pacific coast in Lima! This entry is proving difficult to write as the keyboards are different down here and all the words I type are being spell checked, the websites are all in Spanish! After a long plane ride we touched down, made it past a grumpy immigration officer, and eventually found among many signboards the one with my name on it. I have never been so happy to see my name, as this was our ride to the hostel and we had exited the airport an hour after our scheduled pick up time. We checked out the cab doors before climbing in, handles on the inside, check! My sister told me another cab horror story last night (its hard to believe that was last night) about a girl that got in a cab without handles on the inside, leaving her at the mercy of the driver, thanks Annalise. However we had a very kind driver, who just chuckled at our attempts to speak what little Spanish we know. We drove through the city and along the Pacific coast, the radio alternating between American songs and some intriguing Peruvian ones. Although I could not understand the words, they had an excellent feel to them, the type that get you out of your chair to dance. After a long day of travel it is time to call it a night, exploring awaits us in the morning!
